Lets talk about things other than blogging and food on this personal post.
Hello friends! I am so happy that you are joining me today for the first ever “beyond recipes at TTCP” series and there is no better way to start this in the first month of the year (if you believe in new year, new goals kind of thing…)
This is how January looked like in the first week - so cold and so rainy!
My favourite breakfast for the rainy week included peanut butter on a toasted bread + banana + cinnamon powder. Simple, easy and so so yummy!
After a major wave of demotivation and blogger burnout in November and December, I am back with a lot of energy and new recipes - made very frequent visits to the super market and enjoyed my favourite kind of shopping = GROCERY SHOPPING, duh!
So happy to report that I was able to post 12 recipes this month. I personally think that it is a good number considering I have a full time job over the week and weekend is all I have for blogging (and maintaining a social life). Not complaining at all - I absolutely love doing all of this together & hate sitting idle. Love the fact how I can bake and shoot brownies in the day time & carry them to a party in the evening.
As I write this blog post today i.e. on 31 Jan 2020 - almost end of the day (8pm) - I feel nothing but super motivated to write more posts like these where I talk about things other than food (that hardly happens by the way!)
Here are some things that I am excited to share with you guys:
- Whats new at The Twin Cooking Project?
- Consistency
Thanks to my partner (first, sister!) it is easy to manage this blog (with our respective full time jobs) the way I want it to be. Uploading new recipes in a consistent manner is something that has been my goal since mid 2019 and I am glad that the consistency has gotten better since June 2019 (not counting blogger burn out months of Nov & Dec)
I am trying my best to post at least 2-3 new recipes every week and now that Muskaan has taken over all the social media and technical side, I am happy to only focus on content creation, which makes it so easy to stay consistent, as I have lesser things to take care of.
- Recipes from my mom's kitchen
The blog that started as publication of fancy recipes like beetroot hummus, chocolate tart, salted caramel cheesecake bars or these healthy, yet delicious salad recipes is slowly inclining towards a mix of recipes for the Indian audience. I am not going to lie, these new style innovative recipes that you see on the blog for example sesame toasts, vada pav or hara bhara kebab are all my mom’s recipes that I am so happy to share with you guys. In the coming months, you will see more of these recipes for everyday kitchen and I am sure you will love them too. So happy to have received so much love on this recipe for chilli paneer already.
- More healthy, vegan and vegetarian recipes.
It has amazed me in the last few weeks, how much you guys are loving my simple vegetarian recipes. The snowball effect on Pinterest I got for these mushroom gyozas (potstickers) and the popularity of these simple sesame rice noodles has encouraged me to make more vegetarian recipes and share them on the blog.
Experimented with this simple tofu and quinoa recipe that turned out so good!! Can not wait to shoot this and share with you guys.
In the meanwhile, you can try this simple roasted sweet potato and quinoa salad that I posted a few days ago. Love love LOOOOVE sweet potato. Here is a picture of what my lunch looked like yesterday.
2. Life Upate/ Interesting things that happened this month:
- BFF got married!!!!
Okay, this is not exactly MY life update, but my best friend is one of the most important people in my life. My best friend, N, got married this month to the love of her life and she made such a stunning bride. Not only did we have so much fun at her wedding, but I (with 2 others) also got to throw her a very fun bachelorette party. SO MUCH FUN!!!
3. Goals for February 2020
- Mediavine approval
You guys, I am working so so hard towards this! Reading so much and listening to podcasts and editing all of my previous posts to make them more SEO friendly - this is mostly how my after-work evenings have been looking like. I am totally missing out on the social life but I know I am not going to regret this, once I get my site approved for Mediavine. Crossing my fingers big time for this goal.
- Attend more courses at Food Blogger Pro
As mentioned in this post, FBP has been my best investment in blogging so far. The amount of information you get, to start your blog, to grow your blog, to maintain traffic, is so much and so good. This week’s goal is to attend the long pending SEO course on the platform.
4. Things/ Links I am loving these days:
- YOU season 2 on Netflix …. (Finished the entire season in 1.5 days. Have you watched it yet?)
- This article on how to declutter …. (Something really need to do!!!)
- This hand cream by Nykaa …. (CANT do life without this. SO GOOD!)
- This article on 8 great night time habits …. (Setting out the outfit for the next day is my fav tip)
