Three mushroom creamy toast with shiitake mushrooms, oyster mushrooms and button mushrooms and cream - perfect for a fancy breakfast treat.
I know, I know ... this is my third toast recipe in a week's time, but here me out! This creamy mushroom toast is a dream come true for every mushroom lover. This creamy mushroom toast is also a dream come true for every carbs lover AND this creamy mushroom toast is a dream come true for those who believe in pretty food and no fuss recipes.
Lets talk about these 'fancy' mushrooms.
Ever since I discovered shiitake mushrooms available at a reasonable rate in INA market, I could not help but buy the big 250grams package of dried shiitake mushrooms to be made available for my mushroom cravings anytime I want. In addition to these shiitake mushrooms, I also purchased a packet of oyster mushrooms and developed a couple of recipes (including this recipe for creamy mushroom toast) using them. These are dried mushrooms so all you have to do is add some hot water and let them sit covered for about 20 minutes before you start using them for cooking.
If you want to simplify this recipe, you can also use just button mushrooms and the entire process remains the same (you don't need to add any water to fresh button mushrooms) - simply sautΓ© them (explained further)
How to make creamy mushroom toast?
You need:
- Mushrooms

Slice a good sourdough loaf - store bought or homemade. (I made fresh sourdough bread for this recipe)
