Cheese and garlic savory muffins - perfect for savory breakfast or snacking! Made with cheddar cheese, garlic, jalapeños and simple pantry ingredients, these muffins are moist, full of flavor and so yummy.
Hello my carb-loving friends, I have a delicious cheesy muffin recipe for you!! That's right - its savory, garlicky, cheesy... almost like garlic bread in the form of a muffin. So full of flavor - there's oregano, a little heat from the jalapeños, grated garlic and a lot of cheddar cheese packed inside these moist and spongy muffins. This is going to be perfect to add to your bread basket, to enjoy as a savory breakfast or really, just eat it in place of garlic bread. Super moist & so fun to make, I am sure you will enjoy this recipe as much as I did.
Eggs, milk, butter, flour... basically everything that goes into a regular cake/ muffin batter minus the sugar. The flavors are adding in the form of garlic, cheddar cheese and jalapeños. This recipe is very forgiving and accepting when it comes to variations and additions - feel free to add corn, sun dried tomatoes or chopped olives in the batter too. I can imagine how well they would elevate the flavors!
Start by grating a LOT of good cheddar cheese. I am happy I got to work together with Dairy Kraft (sponsored) and got my hands on their english cheddar cheese that worked so well for this recipe. If you are in Delhi and are struggling to find good cheddar, this is what you should totally try.
The next step is to mix your dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and pepper. Then mix up your wet ingredients in another bowl: eggs, milk, curd (yogurt), butter, garlic and herbs and now combine the two and add cheese to the batter. Add in the jalapeños & mix well. If you are using sun dried tomatoes, or corn or any more ingredients - add them at this point.
Now transfer these to muffin tray and then to the oven and let them bake until fully risen and the top turns crusty. Once they are nice and golden brown, take them out and immediately brush with butter.
They are ready! Enjoy them with pastas, or slice them up and spread some salsa or butter or carry it to your potluck or picnics or really just enjoy them as delicious savory breakfast.
