My beetroot and quinoa burger needed a buddy and here we have it: oven baked sweet potato fries that are so delicious, easy and perfect when craving something sinful, yet healthy.
My first ever encounter with sweet potato fries happened in Berlin in 2015 and I remember getting obsessed with them, just like I got hooked to these summer spring rolls during my last visit to Berlin.
Something so simple, that could be SO delicious, I would buy packs of frozen sweet potato fries from the super market and bake them or make them from scratch - fried version: both SO yum! I would buy sweet potato fries from the street or order them every time I would order a burger - my obsession with this goodness had reached another level in Berlin!
Back to Delhi, I tried making them several times with Indian sweet potato (that is not orange) and finally created this really easy recipe for baked sweet potato fries that gives you crunchy, crispy, delicious fries.
How to make sweet potato fries?
- in a large bowl, mix together sweet potato, olive oil, salt and chilli powder
- transfer these to a baking tray
- bake at 200 degree celsius for 30-35 minutes & serve with ketchup or mayonnaise or french onion yogurt dip or lemon garlic yogurt dip
What to eat with sweet potato fries?
- number one has to be: JUST AS IT IS.
- beetroot and quinoa burgers
- arugula chickpeas salad
- or eat as sweet potato and quinoa salad
- serve with lemon garlic yogurt dip
- or with this french onion yogurt dip? pls do so! 😀

Ingredients
- 3 sweet potatoes
- 1 1/2 tbsp olive oil (extra virgin)
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200 degree celsius.
- Cut the sweet potato into thin fries and transfer to a large bowl. Add olive oil, salt and chilli powder. Toss and mix until everything is well combined.
- Transfer to a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes. Flip and turn the sweet potato and fries and bake for additional 15-20 minutes. Serve hot.
