This recipe for feta cheese and scallion dip is something that I have wanted to shoot for the longest time and you guys know how much I love scallions (aka spring onions) and how much I love cheese.
Probably losing track of number of ways I am consuming this dip that is cheesy, onion-y and yummy, all things at once. Lately crushing on this dip as a serving (a generous serving!) with roasted veggies, grilled chicken and thinning it with lots of milk and using it as a dressing on salads. Its a great addition to your brunch tables, to your backyard barbecue meals and also something to store in a jar and have it ready in your refrigerator for a quick snack-time with your television buddy.
Perfect to serve with appetizers or just chips and crackers, this feta dip is a big hit when you serve it for game nights, parties, BBQ lunches, or even use it a spread on burgers or sandwiches. How to make Whipped Feta and Scallion Dip
Ingredients:
- Feta Cheese: Soft feta cheese that is crumbly and salty.
- Honey: To balance out the saltiness of feta cheese, to add a little bit of sweetness to the dip
- Scallions: Also known as spring onions, just the green part, roughly chopped and added to the blender or food processor
- Milk: A tablespoon or two, to add to the creamy texture of the feta dip
- Garlic: Just a little bit, for that extra flavor
This 5-ingredient dip recipe comes together in 5 minutes! That’s also because you are using feta cheese that is naturally soft and crumbly, so no special keep-on-the-counter treatment to bring it to room temperature. Simply pulse together a block of feta, add lots of scallions or the green part of spring onions, a tablespoon of honey and two of milk and a couple of cloves of garlic.
Whip it up, and its ready. I know it may be a lot to ask, but if you agree to refrigerate the dip for an hour (or two), I am your fan. That one hour in the fridge makes it so thick yet creamy, frothy and whipped up. When you dig in with that cracker, I promise you, you will love the consistency of this addictive feta dip.
Things that go well with this feta and scallion dip:
- Serve it with appetizers (kebabs, spring rolls, nuggets etc.)

Ingredients
- 2 cups or 400 grams of feta cheese
- 1/2 cup scallions (green onion)
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tbsp honey (see note 1)
- 2 small cloves garlic
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender, mixer or food processor and mix until a smooth dip is formed. Refrigerate for one-two hours and serve with chips, nachos, potato wedges, french fries or sweet potato fries.
Notes
- Add honey as much you like - it helps in balancing out the saltiness of feta cheese. Keep in mind that adding more honey will result in a thinner consistency of the dip.
