Description

Quick and easy breakfast recipe with simple spices (chilli & turmeric) and plain bread tossed in mustard seeds, kadhi patta & chilli.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices Bread
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 100 grams Onion (sliced)
  • 60 grams Tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/8 cup Kadhi Patta (crushed)
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Peanuts

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add onions. Sauté for 3-4 minutes on medium heat. Drag them to one side of the pan so that all the oil slides down to the other side of the pan.
  2. Add mustard seeds and kadhi patta. Let it crackle for one minute and add peanuts. Let cook until peanuts are lightly toasted. Add turmeric, salt and chilli powder. Mix well.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes and cook for about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the chopped bread and cook for a couple of minutes until the bread is lightly toasted. Serve hot.
